Optical Illusions & Christmas Creative Fun

Join us for a 4-week creative adventure where young artists will explore the fascinating world of optical illusions, visual tricks and creative effects before finishing the course with a magical Christmas-themed session.

This is more than just an art class. Throughout the four weeks, children will experiment with colour, shape, pattern, perspective and visual effects to discover how artists can create artwork that tricks the eye and makes us look twice.

Each week will introduce a new creative challenge, giving children the opportunity to experiment with different materials and techniques while developing their confidence and creativity in a fun, relaxed and supportive studio environment.

We’ll explore how colours and patterns can create movement, how shapes can appear to change, and how artists can use clever techniques to create amazing optical effects.

And because it’s nearly Christmas, we’ll finish our creative journey with a festive Christmas art session, combining everything we’ve explored with a little seasonal magic.

Whether your child loves drawing, painting, experimenting or simply enjoys making things, this course is a great opportunity to get creative, try something new and have fun along the way.

What We’ll Explore

Week 1 – Optical Illusions
Discover how artists can trick the eye using shapes, lines, patterns and perspective.

Week 2 – Colour & Movement
Experiment with colour and pattern to create artwork that appears to move, vibrate or change before your eyes.

Week 3 – Tricking the Eye
Explore clever drawing and painting techniques to create illusions of depth, dimension and movement.

Week 4 – Christmas Creative Magic
Finish the course with a festive art session packed with Christmas creativity.
